Meet Michael Perlman

Welcome Michael Perlman to the Southern Circuit Tour of Independt Filmmakers! Michael will be touring with his documentary film, Free China: The Courage to Believe. His first stop is in Augusta, GA, at the beautiful Morris Museum of Art this Tuesday, March 11, 2013. Michael will be following the film with a Q&A so come with questions ready.

More about Michael: Michael Perlman is an award-winning filmmaker, performing artist, attorney, and founder of two not-for-profit organizations. He works with human rights organizations in the US, Burma, China and Sudan, and has been selected by Amnesty International as an official Artist for Amnesty. He helped found and served on the board of Cross Cultural Solutions, and is also the founder and director of Rock To Save Darfur, which produced concert benefits that have helped thousands of lives and freed hundreds of slaves. He produced, wrote and directed the New York Times Critics Choice film Eyes of the World, and the award-winning PBS International documentary Tibet: Beyond Fear. Perlman’s most recent film is Free China: The Courage to Believe. Karen Curry, former CNN New York Bureau Chief, praised the film as “Intensely compelling…extraordinary.”
